  • A Light in the World

In this passage, Jesus describes what a follower of God should be like, by comparing a city on the hill to Christians in the world. At night, the city on the hill can be seen miles away. At the time of Jesus, it certainly helped traveler to follow the right direction. As Christians, Jesus asked from us to not hide our faith, but to shine so that people can notice and see the right path to follow... the path to redemption and eternal life. Today, you might be the only "city on the hill" a person might encounter in their life, shine and let God work in their hearts.

Have you shone today? If not, light the candle and start shining everyday and watch how God will work through you.

Please read these verses and remember that no matter what others may think, say or do, it's only what God thinks, says and does that matters!

"12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

    Matthew 5: 12-16, KJV
